Hiking up mountains is a really fullfilling way to enjoy nature, not only is there always the question if you'll make it to the top (depending on the height of the mountain), but every step the views change, often radically. So there is a lot to discover by just changing the height and orientation of ones own viewpoint without needing to cover large distances. And the view from the top, across the surrounding countryside is always awesome. But sometimes reaching the top can surprise you in really weird ways - like when you reach the top of Le Petit Dumont in the Vosges mountains in France and you're confronted by the rear end of a herd of sheep gathered on the summit, huddled together with their heads tucked under the shadows that their bodies create to escape the heat.

Between rising nationalism, rampant corruption, and more and more racism against foreign workers, the picture that many people I met during a two month stay in croatia paint ofthe picturesque tourist country is dark. Probably darker than it has to be - and speaking with antifacist activists, people engaged in civil society, punks and historians, what emerged from all these conversations was a light that offers a perspective, an antifacist perspective. their experiences and struggles within the specific nationalist croatian country can teach antifacists everywhere a lot about dealing with nationalism, organising and how to approach a conflicting and diverse history of antifacist struggle.

Since last fall, I haven't been daily driving the pinephone pro anymore. This is due to it not meeting the requirements that my work brings with it and a severe bug that hasn't been fixed in stable (yet). Here's some background - and why this probably doesn't mean that you couldn't daily drive a linux mobile phone.
